What does the Bible say about wisdom in Christ?

Answered in 19 sources

The Bible teaches that Jesus is made unto us wisdom, allowing us to understand our desperate need for Him and revealing the true state of our hearts.

In 1 Corinthians 1:30, Paul declares that Jesus Christ is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. By nature, we are lost and blind in our sin, unaware of our true condition until Christ brings wisdom to light. This wisdom is not the world's understanding but a divine insight that reveals our need for salvation and the glory of God. Proverbs 8 also presents wisdom as a personified embodiment, emphasizing that true wisdom consists of recognizing and acknowledging Christ in all our ways. In acknowledging Him, we gain clarity about who we are and our standing before God.
