What does the Bible say about worry and anxiety?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that worry and anxiety are unnecessary for believers because God, in His sovereignty, will provide for all our needs.

In Luke 12:22-31, Jesus instructs His disciples not to worry about what they will eat or wear, assuring them that life is more than food and the body more than clothes. As God's children, we should trust that our Heavenly Father knows our needs and will provide abundantly for us. Anxiety often stems from a lack of faith, and the cure for it is placing our complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, who controls all things according to His perfect will. Rather than worry, we are encouraged to seek first the kingdom of God, highlighting that His provision is a demonstration of His love and care for us.
