What does the Bible teach about human nature and sin?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that all humans are sinful by nature and incapable of righteousness apart from God's grace.

According to Scripture, human nature is fundamentally corrupt and inclined toward sin. Genesis 6:5 states that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. This reflects the biblical view presented in Romans 5:12, which teaches that sin entered the world through one man, Adam, bringing death to all. Thus, without divine intervention and the grace of God, humanity is destined for condemnation. It emphasizes the need for repentance and faith in God’s provision of salvation through Christ to rectify our sinful state.
