What does the Bible teach about losing rewards?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns that Christians can lose rewards through disobedience or neglect of their faith.

The Scriptures indicate that while believers receive rewards through grace, they also can experience loss due to disobedience. For example, 2 John 8 warns believers to be diligent to ensure they do not lose the rewards they have worked for. This serves as a reminder that our faith must be active and genuine; otherwise, we may miss out on the blessings God desires to give us. Furthermore, in 1 Corinthians 3:13-15, Paul explains that one's works will be tested, and while believers themselves will be saved, they may lose the rewards associated with their actions if those actions do not endure through trials.
