What does the Bible teach about moral inability in relation to belief?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that fallen humanity possesses a moral inability to come to Christ without divine intervention.

Moral inability refers to the condition of the fallen human nature that is incapable of choosing God or responding to Him without the Holy Spirit's effectual calling. The sermon emphasizes that unbelief is not simply an intellectual or physical inability but a moral one, rooted in a nature that is hostile to God (Romans 8:7). Therefore, a necessary transformation through regeneration is required for faith to be birthed in a person. Our natural disposition is towards sin and rebellion, thus necessitating God's sovereign grace to instill a new nature within us, enabling us to see and desire Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Without this divine act, individuals remain in their state of unbelief.
