What does the Bible teach about our earthly bodies and the resurrection?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that our earthly bodies are temporary like tents, but we will be given glorified bodies in the resurrection.

In 2 Corinthians 5:1-2, the Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of a tent to illustrate the temporary nature of our earthly bodies. This transient existence is contrasted with the eternal, glorified bodies believers will receive in the resurrection. The promise includes the transformation of our mortal, corruptible bodies into glorious, incorruptible ones, as noted in 1 Corinthians 15:52-54. This belief provides comfort and hope, affirming that while we endure struggles in our present physical state, we look forward to a future in which death and decay are no more, and we shall dwell eternally in the presence of God.
