What does the Bible teach about prayer in relation to God’s sovereignty?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that prayer is an important means through which God's sovereign will is accomplished.

Prayer holds a vital role in the life of the Christian and is intricately tied to God’s sovereignty. Despite God's ultimate control, prayer is the avenue through which believers communicate their desires and intercede for others, reflecting their dependence on God. In Acts 9, Peter encouraged the community to pray, showing that while God is sovereign, He has ordained that He works through the prayers of His people. This teaches us that our prayers are not futile; rather, they are part of God's sovereign plan, as He uses them to accomplish His purposes and bring about His glory in the lives of those we pray for. Thus, believers are urged to pray without ceasing, trusting that God is at work, both in what they see and do not see.
