What does the Bible teach about the works in relation to faith?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that works do not justify; rather, justification comes through faith apart from works.

In Romans 4, Paul clarifies that if justification were based on works, then it would not be an act of grace, but a debt owed for human effort. He asserts that to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, their faith is counted for righteousness. This illustrates the principle that our good works are not the basis of our relationship with God but rather an expression of the faith that we have in Him. True faith produces good works as a natural outcome, but it is faith alone that justifies a sinner before a holy God, affirming that it is God's grace that brings salvation.
