What does the covenant of grace mean in Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

The covenant of grace signifies God's promise of salvation to His people, based on the work of Christ rather than human efforts.

The covenant of grace is central to Reformed theology, representing the agreement made between the Father and the Son before the foundation of the world. This covenant assures believers that their salvation is secure, not contingent upon their actions but rather on the atoning work of Jesus Christ. The sermon expounds that, much like David's covenant with Jonathan, which provided for Mephibosheth's needs, God's covenant guarantees that His people are taken care of eternally. It assures believers that God will fulfill all His promises, as He is faithful and unchanging.
