What happens after we die according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

After death, believers in Christ will be received into heaven while those outside of Christ face eternal separation from God.

According to Scripture, upon death, believers are brought into the presence of God. In 2 Corinthians 5:1, Paul explains that even if our earthly bodies perish, we have a heavenly dwelling waiting for us, crafted by God. This assurance highlights the comfort and hope for Christians, knowing they will be welcomed into heaven. Conversely, the fate of those who die outside of Christ is starkly different, as they will not experience this eternal joy and will face judgment. Therefore, the teachings reinforce the importance of faith in Jesus Christ and the assurance of salvation that accompanies it.
