What happens if someone denies Jesus is the Christ?

Denying that Jesus is the Christ is a serious matter according to scripture. As stated in 1 John 2:22, anyone who denies the Son also denies the Father. This rejection places them outside the covenant of grace, as true fellowship with God can only be attained through faith in Jesus Christ, the mediator.
