What happens to a sinner when God saves him?

Answered in 1 source

When God saves, He regenerates the sinner, giving them spiritual life and a new heart.

Salvation involves a profound transformation through divine regeneration. According to 1 Peter 1:3, believers are born again to a living hope. This new birth is the work of the Holy Spirit who imparts spiritual life to what was once dead in sin (Ephesians 2:5). A saved sinner, therefore, experiences a change of heart and perspective towards God, leading to faith and repentance. This life change is evidence of God's grace working within the believer, demonstrating that true salvation results in a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
