What happens to our souls after death?

Answered in 2 sources

After death, souls are destined for eternal life with God or eternal separation from Him based on faith in Christ.

The Scripture teaches that upon death, the state of one's soul is irrevocably fixed. 2 Corinthians 5:10 points out that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive what we have done in our bodies, whether good or evil. Believers, having trusted in Christ, are assured of eternal life and are welcomed into the presence of God, while those who die outside of Christ face eternal judgment and separation from Him. This reality serves as a serious reminder of the importance of gospel proclamation and personal faith, as death finalizes one's eternal condition, either in the glorious presence of the Lord or in perpetual torment apart from Him.
