What happens to the bodies of believers at the resurrection?

Answered in 1 source

At the resurrection, believers will receive glorified bodies, transformed from mortal to immortal.

At the resurrection, believers' bodies will be transformed and glorified, reflecting the nature of Christ's resurrected body. Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 that the bodies buried in corruption will be raised in incorruption; the mortal will put on immortality (1 Corinthians 15:54). This transformation is crucial because it signifies a departure from our current frail, sinful existence to a state of glory and perfection. The resurrection body will not be subject to sin, suffering, or decay, as evidenced by Christ's own risen body, which still bore the marks of crucifixion yet was glorified (Luke 24:39). Thus, the resurrection assures believers that they will be like Christ, experiencing eternal life with Him in a perfected state.
