What happens to the soul of a believer at death?

Answered in 2 sources

The soul of a believer immediately goes to be with the Lord and experiences perfect moral transformation.

When a believer dies, their soul is instantly brought into the immediate presence of Christ, as affirmed in 2 Corinthians 5:8 and Philippians 1:23. The Scriptures illustrate that this state is one of full consciousness and joy, where the believer experiences moral perfection, free from sin and its effects. They are then joined with the spirits of just men made perfect, eagerly awaiting the resurrection of their bodies. This transformation signifies that death is not an end, but rather a transition into eternal blessings promised by God.
