What happens to the souls of the righteous after death?

Answered in 1 source

The souls of the righteous are taken into heaven at the moment of death.

When a believer dies, their soul is taken immediately into heaven, described as a place of rest and glory. Isaiah 57:1-2 explains that the righteous are taken away from evil and enter into peace. This passage reassures us that God's saints, upon leaving their earthly bodies, are welcomed into the presence of Christ, where they enjoy eternal communion and happiness with Him. Their souls rest in assurance, walking in uprightness without any sorrows or struggles of this life.
