What happens to those who die in Christ if there is no resurrection?

Answered in 1 source

If there is no resurrection, those who die in Christ perish and have no hope.

Paul asserts in 1 Corinthians 15:18 that if there is no resurrection, then those who have fallen asleep in Christ are perished. This grim reality highlights the importance of the resurrection for the faith of believers. If Christ has not risen, then those who placed their trust in Him will have ultimately lost everything. However, the assurance of resurrection brings comfort and hope to believers, affirming that death is not the end, and they will be raised to eternal life because of their union with Christ.
