What happens when people reject the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

Rejecting the gospel leads to divine reprobation and spiritual blindness.

When individuals reject the gospel, they court eternal reprobation, closing their hearts, ears, and eyes to the truth of God's word. This willful unbelief results in a state where they can no longer perceive the truth, leading to God withholding His grace and allowing them to remain in darkness. As seen in Acts 28, those who heard the gospel yet did not believe hardened their hearts, and God confirmed their unbelief, leaving them without hope of salvation.
