What is a good hope?

Answered in 1 source

A good hope is one that is founded on the truth of Scripture and anchored in the work of Jesus Christ.

A good hope involves a confident expectation that is grounded in the eternal promises of God. As conveyed in 2 Thessalonians 2:16, our hope is considered good because it is linked to God's everlasting consolation and grace. This hope is not based on personal merit or feelings but rather on the finished work of Christ — His righteousness imputed to believers allows them to boldly approach God without shame. A genuine hope produces fruits in a believer’s life, demonstrating its true nature and authenticity through good works and a transformed character.
