What is spiritual warfare according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Biblical spiritual warfare involves resisting the subtle influences of evil forces against our faith, relying on Christ for strength.

Spiritual warfare, as described in Ephesians 6:12, is not against physical opponents but against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. This can be a profound aspect of a believer's life as these forces seek to undermine our faith and distract us from Christ. The Lord calls us to be vigilant and to put on the whole armor of God so we can stand firm against these assaults. The emphasis is on dependence upon Christ's strength, understanding that our victory has already been assured through His death and resurrection. In spiritual warfare, believers participate in a conflict that is largely unseen, engaging in prayer, Scripture meditation, and the proclamation of the gospel, knowing that the ultimate victory belongs to the Lord (Romans 16:20).
