What is the connection between God's love and confession of faith?

Answered in 1 source

The confession of faith in Christ is a direct reflection of God's love in the believer's heart.

1 John 4:15 states, 'Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.' This denotes that true confession of faith is not just verbal acknowledgment but stems from the transformative experience of God's love within. The indwelling of God in the believer creates a new nature that naturally affirms Jesus as the Son of God and leads to a life lived in love. Without God's love working in us, sincere faith and confession cannot occur, as our ability to believe and express that belief is empowered by the Holy Spirit. The relationship is reciprocal; God’s love instills faith, which results in a heartfelt confession and witness of His glory.
