What is the consequence of mixing law and grace?

Answered in 1 source

Mixing law and grace leads to confusion and spiritual bondage instead of true freedom in Christ.

In Malachi and the letters of Paul, we see the dangers of intertwining the law with grace. When preachers and leaders enforce law alongside grace, they cause believers to stumble, losing sight of the gospel of Christ. The law was never designed for salvation but rather to expose sin and point to Christ. This confusion can place believers in legalistic bondage rather than allowing them to experience the freedom that comes from faith in Christ alone.
