What is the difference between a preacher and a priest in Reformed theology?

Answered in 1 source

In Reformed theology, a preacher is not a priest but a servant of the Word who proclaims the gospel.

In Reformed theology, a preacher's role significantly differs from that of a priest in that the preacher is seen as a servant of the Word, called and gifted by God to declare the gospel of grace to the church and the world. Unlike priests who may serve in a mediatorial role within certain traditions, preachers emphasize that Christ is the ultimate mediator between God and man. Therefore, they are not to act as intermediaries but rather articulate the message of salvation freely available through faith in Christ. This distinct role enables the preaching of God's grace directly to His people, facilitating their relationship with Him through the truth of the Gospel.
