What is the difference between God's secret will and His revealed will?

Answered in 1 source

God's secret will includes His hidden decrees, while His revealed will consists of what He has disclosed to us in Scripture.

God's will is divided into two categories: the secret will and the revealed will. The secret will encompasses all that God has decreed but has not disclosed to humanity; it remains known only to Him. In contrast, the revealed will is made known through Scripture and providence, allowing believers insight into God's plans and expectations. Deuteronomy 29:29 illustrates this distinction, asserting that secret things belong to God, while the revealed things are for us to follow, guiding our actions and faith. Thus, while God's secret will is beyond our comprehension, His revealed will offers the guidance necessary for faithful living.
