What is the difference between man's devices and God's counsel?

Answered in 1 source

Man's devices are numerous and often lead to failure, while God's counsel is singular, steadfast, and ultimately triumphant.

The distinction between man's devices and God's counsel is highlighted in Proverbs 19:21, which states that there are many devices in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord shall stand. Man's plans are often fraught with anxiety and uncertainty; they can be vain and misaligned with divine purpose. In contrast, God’s counsel is always unified, certain, and will prevail against any human attempts to alter His plan. Isaiah 43:13 underscores this truth, stating that no one can deliver out of His hand or oppose His works. Thus, reliance on God's counsel rather than our fallible wisdom is imperative for every believer.
