What is the difference between the true gospel and false gospels?

Answered in 1 source

The true gospel focuses on Christ's atoning work, while false gospels promote works or other means of salvation.

The true gospel distinctly centers on the finished work of Jesus Christ, proclaiming that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Unlike false gospels, which offer a message of works righteousness or mere moral improvement, the true gospel emphasizes that Christ's death and resurrection accomplish redemption for His people (1 Peter 1:18-19). False gospels, such as those espoused by modern Arminianism or works-based religions, often suggest that individuals can earn salvation or contribute to their own redemption. Such teachings diverge from the biblical declaration that salvation is entirely the work of God’s sovereign grace in Christ.
