What is the good news of the Gospel?

Answered in 4 sources

The good news of the Gospel is that through Christ’s death and resurrection, believers are justified and reconciled to God (Romans 5:1).

The Gospel, often referred to as the 'good news', reveals God's redemptive plan through Jesus Christ, who died for sinners to secure their salvation. Romans 5:1 articulates that being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This entails that Jesus is both the sacrifice for our sins and the source of righteousness that we cannot attain on our own. The Gospel message encompasses both the acknowledgment of our sinfulness and the proclamation of God’s grace, affirming that salvation is not based on human effort, but is a gift freely given to His elect, who believe in Christ’s completed work.
