What is the nature of God's love?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is covenantal, everlasting, and purposeful, signifying His unwavering commitment to His people (Ephesians 1:4).

The nature of God's love can be characterized as covenantal, everlasting, and purposeful. It is covenantal in that God has made unbreakable agreements with His people, demonstrating a steadfast intention for their well-being and holiness. This love is not contingent upon human actions but is a sovereign choice made by God. Additionally, God’s love is everlasting; it does not fluctuate according to our circumstances or behaviors, and it promises unending support through all life’s challenges. God's love is also purposeful, designed to glorify Himself and accomplish good for His people, as encapsulated in Ephesians 1:4, which speaks of being chosen before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him in love.
