What is the purpose of God's gifts to His people?

Answered in 1 source

God gives gifts to His people for the building up of the Church and for the edification of the body of Christ.

The gifts bestowed upon believers serve a divine purpose in the life of the Church. In Ephesians, Paul articulates that these gifts are given 'for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.' Each believer, having received grace according to the measure of Christ's gift, plays a vital role in building up the community of faith. This interconnectedness reflects the unity of believers who are being formed into a dwelling place for God, showcasing His glory and power as He dwells among them.
