What is the purpose of God's revelation in creation and Scripture?

Answered in 1 source

The purpose of God's revelation in creation and Scripture is to declare His glory and guide humanity to salvation through Christ.

God reveals Himself both in creation and in His Word. Psalm 19 describes the 'two books' that communicate His glory: the book of creation and the book of Scripture. Creation bears witness to God's power, wisdom, and design, making His existence evident to all (Romans 1:20). Meanwhile, Scripture provides a deeper revelation of His character, detailing how God saves sinners through Christ. The law and the gospel are interwoven; the former reveals our sin while the latter offers us the hope of salvation. Therefore, both forms of revelation call us to respond in faith and seek Christ for redemption.
