What is the purpose of the law according to Paul?

Answered in 1 source

The law serves to reveal sin and highlight our need for a Savior, ultimately leading to the righteousness found in Christ (2 Corinthians 3:7-9).

Paul describes the law as a ministration of death, illustrating that its purpose is to expose sin and bring conviction. While the law is good and reflects God's righteousness, it does not provide the power to obey or save. Instead, it leads us to recognize our inability to attain righteousness on our own, pointing us toward Christ as the fulfillment of the law. In this way, the law serves as a tutor, directing us to the grace found in the Gospel, where true life and righteousness reside.
