What is the purpose of trials in a Christian's life?

Answered in 4 sources

Trials serve to test and strengthen a believer's faith and reliance on God throughout their journey (James 1:2-3).

Trials play an integral role in a Christian's faith journey. James 1:2-3 encourages us to 'count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.' Trials are not merely obstacles; they are opportunities for growth, revealing whether our faith is genuine and prompting believers to lean more deeply on Christ. God uses these challenges to teach us perseverance and refine our character, thereby preparing us for greater measures of faith.
