What is the relationship between faith and election?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is the evidence of election; those who are elect will eventually believe and come to Christ.

In the context of sovereign grace theology, faith is a result of God's electing grace. As articulated in Ephesians 2:8-9, faith itself is a gift from God, and it is this faith that leads the elect to repentance and belief in the gospel. Every individual that God has chosen will, in due time, experience the conviction of their sin and their need for salvation, leading them to genuine faith in Christ. Importantly, those who believe do not become elect because of their faith; rather, they believe because they are elect. This understanding affirms the biblical teaching that salvation is fully based on God's initiative and sovereignty.
