What is the relationship between faith and love for the brethren?

In 1 John 3:14, it teaches that we know we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren. This love is a direct result of the faith granted to us by God; it is the evidence of our new birth. Genuine belief in God's promises leads us to care for and love those whom God has also redeemed. This interconnectedness highlights how part of being born of God is not only accepting His righteousness for ourselves but extending that love and grace to our fellow believers in the body of Christ.
