What is the relationship between faith and love in Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

Faith and love are inseparable; true faith manifests itself through love for God's people.

In Christian theology, particularly as outlined in 1 John, faith and love are intimately connected. The passage asserts that true faith operates through love (Galatians 5:6). This means that genuine belief in Christ not only fosters a deep personal relationship with Him, but also compels believers to exhibit love towards others. If a person claims to have faith but lacks love, their faith is not genuine. Therefore, loving one's neighbor and demonstrating care for fellow believers is a direct reflection of the active faith one possesses in the Lord (1 John 4:20).
