What is the relationship between faith and works in the Christian life?

Answered in 4 sources

Faith and works are intrinsically linked; true faith expresses itself through love and good deeds, as shown in James 2:17.

In the Christian life, the relationship between faith and works is one of vital importance. While salvation is through faith alone, a genuine faith will naturally produce good works as its fruit. The apostle James states that faith without works is dead, implying that true belief results in action. Paul echoes this in his writings by declaring that God is not unjust to forget the work and labor of love shown by believers. Therefore, while believers do not earn their salvation through works, the presence of good works serves as evidence of a living and active faith.
