What is the relationship between God's will and human actions?

Answered in 1 source

God's will encompasses all that happens, including human actions, though His sovereign will does not cause sin.

The relationship between God's will and human actions is complex. The Bible makes clear that while God's sovereign will is in control of everything that happens, He does not cause sin directly. Instead, human choices, while real and meaningful, fall under His ultimate sovereignty. Acts 2:23 illustrates that even the wicked actions of men were according to God's predetermined plan. However, we are still held responsible for our actions, as seen in Romans 9:19-21, reminding us that God's justice and mercy are integral to His will.
