What is the relationship between grace and sin in a believer's life?

Answered in 1 source

The relationship between grace and sin is one of transformation; grace empowers believers to overcome sin rather than excuse it (Romans 6:1-2).

Grace is the unmerited favor of God that justifies and sanctifies believers. Romans 6:1-2 establishes that although grace abounds where sin increases, believers are not called to continue in sin to experience more grace. The true gospel assures that grace does not permit sin; instead, it empowers believers to live in righteousness. Consequently, a believer's life should increasingly reflect the character and obedience of Christ, leading to a genuine disdain for sin and a heartfelt desire for holiness.
