What is the relationship between hope and faith in a Christian's life?

Answered in 1 source

Hope and faith are intertwined, where faith is the assurance of things hoped for, rooted in Christ's promises.

In the life of a believer, faith serves as the foundation upon which hope is built. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as 'the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.' This indicates that while faith is the assurance that what God has promised will come to pass, hope is the expectation of receiving those promises. The Christian’s hope is not a vague wish, but a confident anticipation based on the finished work of Christ and the unchanging nature of God’s promises. As our faith matures through trials and experiences, our hope becomes increasingly robust, allowing us to face challenges with a steadfast spirit.
