What is the relationship between love and good works?

Answered in 1 source

Love and good works are intertwined, with love being the motivation behind our good actions.

The relationship between love and good works is foundational in Christian theology. As expressed in Galatians 5:6, 'For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything nor uncircumcision, but faith which works by love.' This signifies that while good works are important, they are not the basis of our standing before God; rather, they are the natural outflow of a heart filled with God's love. When we are filled with His love, it compels us to act righteously and serve others, fulfilling the law of Christ. Moreover, Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are created in Christ for good works, which God has prepared in advance for us. Therefore, love, arising from faith, is the catalyst that inspires us to do good and glorify God.
