What is the relationship between sin and death according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that sin leads to death, both spiritually and physically, as a consequence of Adam's fall.

The relationship between sin and death is clearly delineated in the scriptures. Genesis 2:17 conveys God's warning to Adam: eating from the forbidden tree would result in death. This death encompasses both spiritual and physical dimensions. Adam's sin introduced spiritual death, severing the relationship between mankind and God. As Romans 6:23 states, the wages of sin is death. Therefore, all who inherit Adam's sinful nature face both physical death and spiritual consequences unless redeemed through faith in Christ, who overcame death.
