What is the relationship between sin and grace?

Answered in 1 source

While grace abounds in response to sin, Christians are called not to abuse this grace for sinning (Romans 6:1-2).

The relationship between sin and grace is addressed in Romans 6:1-2, where Paul poses a question about whether we should continue in sin for grace to abound, to which he firmly responds, 'God forbid!' This highlights the transformative power of grace; while it covers our sins, it also liberates us from the cycle of sin. True grace leads to a changed life where sin no longer reigns. Therefore, grace should not be seen as a license to sin but as a divine enablement to resist sin and live righteously. Believers are empowered by the Spirit to walk in newness of life, reflecting their union with Christ and obedience to God.
