What is the relationship between wisdom and the fall of man?

Answered in 1 source

The fall of man resulted in a loss of divine wisdom, as humanity sought autonomy apart from God's truth.

Genesis 3 illustrates that the fall not only brought sin and death but also a profound loss of wisdom. When Adam and Eve chose to believe the serpent's lies, they sought wisdom outside of God's command, leading to their alienation from the source of all wisdom. This desire for autonomous wisdom has characterized humanity since, resulting in spiritual darkness and confusion. Romans 1 further depicts the folly of rejecting God's wisdom, leading mankind into a state of futility and moral decay. Ultimately, the restoration of wisdom begins with a reconciliation to God through Christ.
