What is the role of Christ in God's plan of deliverance?

Answered in 1 source

Christ plays the central role in God's plan of deliverance, as He embodies God's merciful intervention and fulfillment of redemptive promises.

In the context of God's deliverance, Christ is likened to Paul's nephew in the sermon, who intervened to save Paul from danger. Just as the nephew discovered and revealed the plot against Paul, Christ came to reveal God's plan to save His people from sin and death. His life, death, and resurrection illustrate the fulfillment of God's promise to rescue those He has chosen. The Gospel, therefore, is centered on Christ's sacrificial work, which frustrated Satan's plot against humanity by offering forgiveness and reconciliation with God (2 Corinthians 5:21). This understanding reinforces the foundational belief that through Christ, all who are called will be persevered in faith until the end.
