What is the role of the Holy Spirit in obedience?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to obey God’s commands.

The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in the life of a believer regarding obedience. Once a person is regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit, they are given not only the desire but also the power to obey God's commands. Galatians 5:16 urges believers to walk in the Spirit so as not to fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The transformation that occurs through the Holy Spirit grants Christians the ability to live a life set apart unto holiness. As Romans 8:14 states, those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God, emphasizing that obedience is a characteristic of those indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
