What is the role of the preacher in spiritual growth?

Answered in 1 source

The preacher's role is to faithfully sow the seed of God's Word, relying on God to bring about growth in the hearts of His people.

The preacher acts as a farmer, planting the incorruptible seed of the Word of God in the hearts of people. It is the preacher's responsibility to diligently proclaim the Gospel and to preach Christ crucified, free from any corruption of human tradition or emotional manipulation. Spiritual growth does not depend on the preacher's charisma or skill but on God's sovereign work through the faithful proclamation of His Word. The preacher must rely on God's grace to produce fruit in the lives of the hearers, trusting that the seed will sprout and grow as God sees fit.
