What is the significance of Christ's obedience in relation to our righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's obedience, particularly in His death, is central to our righteousness as it fulfills the law and satisfies God's justice.

The significance of Christ's obedience cannot be overstated. In Philippians 2:8, we see that Christ 'humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.' His obedience to the will of the Father is what fulfills all righteousness required by God. Romans 5:19 explains that through one man's obedience many shall be made righteous, demonstrating that it is Christ's perfect righteousness that is credited to believers. Therefore, our assurance of righteousness rests solely on the finished work of Christ and His fulfillment of the law.
