What is the significance of faith in Jesus for salvation?

Answered in 3 sources

Faith in Jesus is essential as it is through Him that we receive eternal life and reconciliation with God (John 14:6).

Faith in Jesus Christ is the only means by which we can obtain eternal life. John 14:6 clearly states that Jesus is 'the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.' This signifies that faith is not simply a mental agreement but a deep trust in Christ as our Savior. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), as it is through faith we are united with Christ, who transforms our position from sin to righteousness. This relationship is initiated and maintained by God’s grace, affirming that we cannot merit salvation by our deeds but through our faith in the Savior.
