What is the significance of glorifying God?

Answered in 2 sources

Glorifying God is fundamental to our purpose as it acknowledges His sovereignty and the truth of His character.

The primary calling of humanity is to glorify God, a theme reflected throughout scripture. Psalm 115 opens with a declaration that it is 'not unto us, O Lord, but unto Thy name be glory.' This underscores that our existence centers on recognizing and declaring God’s attributes: His mercy, truth, and sovereignty. By glorifying God, we actively participate in His redemptive story, acknowledging that all we have comes from Him. This act of glorification draws us into deeper communion with Him and aligns our lives with His divine purpose.
