What is the significance of the tabernacle in relation to Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

The tabernacle signifies God's dwelling among His people and foreshadows Jesus as the ultimate presence of God.

The tabernacle in the Old Testament represents God's desire to dwell among His people. It served as the physical manifestation of God's presence and established a means for Israel to worship Him. When we look at Christ, we see the ultimate fulfillment of what the tabernacle represented. Jesus is described as the Word who became flesh and 'tabernacled' among us (John 1:14). He embodies the presence of God, meeting the requirements of the Law, and providing Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sin. Understanding the significance of the tabernacle deepens our appreciation for Christ’s role as both our Savior and the means by which we can approach God in worship, ultimately fulfilling the purpose of God's original design.
